Eight Months!!!

So this is somewhat of a longer post because I am soooooo behind!!! Leah is now eight months!! I feel so bad (as she is my first) that I totally haven't been keeping up the whole "every month" update. I keep a journal by my bedside to jot down a few things that I can think of that she does in a day, but I am not so good at this blog thing. It does require more effort. So, this will have to do. The holidays seemed to come and go very fast. It was extremely nice to only have to travel the hour and fifteen minutes it takes to get to our parents houses. Leah loved Christmas with all the lights and wrapping paper. Wouldn't it be nice if that was all it took to keep us happy? :) I love watching her grow and experience life for the first time. She really is such a peach. I feel so lucky to have such a sweet baby. Leah still goes down for naps and bedtime easily and kinda sleeps in. To sum things up I would say she is just very "content". She really is. I don't hear a peep from her (only babbling) unless she is hungry or tired, which is remedied very easily. In fact, she is so content with staying on her tummy until mom picks her up that she doesn't feel the need to roll over. She is content with sitting up and doesn't feel the need to crawl. She is so content with her bottle that she doesn't feel the need to eat solids. I tried the solid food thing in order but she won't have it. I can only get her to eat a few table spoons of rice cereal with bananas or pears on a good day. If this is a sign of a picky eater than I am a little scared. She shutters or gags at any veggie, water and some fruits. I guess she is just not ready.....at eight months. :) In all seriousness, I believe she is a very easy baby and thank my Heavenly Father for sending me such a gem. Things Leah is into lately:

- She has a real love for books! She has pretty much memorized all the flaps and fuzzy objects in almost all her books and goes right for them. She loves to turn the pages. One of her favorites, which might have been brought on by her mother is The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. She will sit through the whole thing and listen.

-She loves to talk and will sometimes really carry a conversation with you. My mom has proof on video. She posted it on fb.

-One of my favorite things she does is clasp her hands together. Every time I pick her up out of her crib she immediately clasps her little hands together and forces those little fingers to entwine. I even catch her doing this when she is sitting on the floor sometimes, or if I am holding her. I think she does it for comfort and I think it is adorable!

-Leah has two teeth. Her lower central incisors.

- She has found her tongue and loves to stick it out, especially when she is super giddy or being silly!

- She has also graduated from headbands to hair clips and doesn't even know they are there yet! :)

-You will also notice Leah has the chubbiest and the most delicious cheeks!

Christmas with the Thompsons!
My mom and dad
This was our New Year's card we sent out because we didn't get a Christmas one out in time. Next year it will be a Christmas card!

I will post more pictures of Leah soon but my new cameras battery is dead and I want to go to bed. :)

Leah just looks adorable, but reading this makes her all around so sweet! She seems like such a little lady! P.S. I also loved the "lower central incisors" hehe!
